My name is Tyler Rush, and I’m proud to serve our students, families, and staff as Principal of Hamilton Elementary School. I consider myself lucky to have spent the majority of my 17 year career in education as a Ranger. As an elementary classroom teacher, I taught for 8 years including six years at Hamilton Elementary as a 3rd grade language arts teacher. I then transitioned into the assistant principal role for six years, eventually taking an opportunity with another central Ohio district as an elementary principal for two years. However, when the opportunity presented itself to return back to Hamilton Local in 2023, I knew it was time to come home.
I am a proud graduate of Ohio Dominican University and Ohio University, hold a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, masters degree in educational administration, and keep teacher, principal, and superintendent licensures.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife of 18 years, Alice, and my second grade daughter Morgan. Being a father has given me a whole different perspective to the work we do here at Hamilton Elementary.
I am incredibly excited to see what our students can achieve this year and beyond. Our staff is prepared to support our students in all areas, and we look forward to partnering with you to help your child achieve each and every day.
Welcome to the Hamilton Elementary School Website. I am the current Assistant Principal, Melissa Seiler, working directly with Mr. Rush to continue serving our students and community. Previously, I was located at the Middle School where I was the Assistant Principal and taught 7th grade math. I started my career in the district in 2009, at Hamilton Intermediate School, where I held a 5th grade math position.
While at Hamilton, I have earned several acknowledgments such as the Superintendent's Award in 2020. I was also interviewed by Battelle For Kids in 2012 and featured in their educational videos. I grew up an athlete, so I also found joy in coaching. I coached both Varsity and Middle School track as well as Cheerleading.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and my degree in Middle Childhood Education from Capital University. Since then, I have recieved my Master's of Education in School Administration from Ashland University.
I am excited to continue my leadership role at Hamilton Elementary School and make meaningful connections with our students and staff.
