We are excited to be working with you and the school staff throughout the year. The PTO works with the school to help provide learning materials, special events, rewards and volunteers as they’re needed. Some of the items we provide are; green homework folders, award paper, classroom holiday crafts or books, new teacher classroom supplies, clothes for our school nurse, butterflies, and flowers. We sponsor or volunteer for the following events; book fairs, holiday shop, third grade moving on, fun days, fall festival, kindergarten Thanksgiving lunch/dinner and staff appreciation events. The PTO truly makes a difference at the school and we invite you to be a part of it any way possible, rather it be helping your child sell items during a fundraiser, sending in box tops, or volunteering your time to help at events.
FACEBOOK GROUP
We invite you to join our Facebook group, all of the PTO and school’s events are posted in the group. We also post and coordinate our various volunteer opportunities in the group. It is a closed group and you must request to join through facebook. Please see the volunteer section below if you are interested in working events during school hours.
Just search Facebook for: HAMILTON LOCAL ELEMENTARY PTO and it will pull up our group.

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
If you are interested in working events during school hours, like book fairs, you must pass a background check. The background check packet is available on our Facebook group, or you can email Jamie to get a copy. Once completed you will contact Chrysis Thompson at 491-8044 ext 1202 to schedule the check. The cost is $27 and is due when you submit your paperwork. Background checks are good for three years, and can be used to volunteer at any of the schools. If requested the PTO will reimburse you the cost after you complete 27 hours of volunteer time. Please note, if you have lived in Ohio less than five years, you will also be required to complete a federal check. Chrysis has all of the paperwork for the federal check and can inform you of the costs.
