HLSD Buildings receive Purple Star Award!

The Ohio Department of Education has recently announced that Hamilton Preschool, Elementary, and Intermediate Buildings have been named members of the Purple Star Class of 2022.

Mrs. Smith's class had the pleasure of meeting Lisa Bradley via zoom. She is co-founder of R. Riveter which was featured on Shark Tank. R. Riveter is a handbag company that employs military spouses. In preparation for the meet, the students completed a Shark Tank activity during intervention where they wrote a pitch for Shark Tank for their invention. The students have also been working on growth mindset and asked Mrs. Bradley about her how she overcomes challenges,

stays organized, and her inspirations.

H.I.S. Students Thank Our Veterans

Intermediate students wrote notes of appreciation to send to Veterans participating in Honor Flight Columbus. Honor Flight Columbus honors America's senior veterans with a trip to Washington D.C. to visit the nation's memorials. This trip allows veterans to share their stories and celebrate their service.

NEW Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures 8/12/21

We have designated different areas for student drop off and pick up based on grade levels. We ask that all parents park in the designated parking areas and remain in the car with their child until the building opens at 8:00am.

All 4th-grade students will enter/exit the building using the doors closest to the playground. Therefore, if you are dropping off/picking up a 4th-grade student, please park in the lot on the west side of the building in front of the playground.

All 5th and 6th-grade students will enter/exit the building using the main doors. Therefore, if you are dropping off/picking up a 5th or 6th-grade student, please park in the main parking lot.

If you are also picking up a child from the elementary school, you may remain parked in the parking lot. Cars may begin lining up after 3:15 pm for the elementary school.

Student safety is our number one priority. Please be cautious and continue to be patient as we work to make this process as safe and efficient as possible. As always, please call us if you have any questions or concerns.
