Superintendent's Update - January 3, 2022

Ranger Families,

As we begin the 3rd quarter, I wanted to take a second and update everyone regarding the newest COVID guidelines.

Based on updates from the CDC, the Ohio Department of Health, and Franklin County Public Health if your student has tested positive, they will need to quarantine for 5 days from the onset of symptoms or the positive test date, whichever is first. They are then allowed to return to school wearing a mask for another 5 days as long as they are fever-free for 24 hours and asymptomatic.

In-home exposures now only have to quarantine for 5 days instead of 10 and can come back to school on day 6, in a mask, if asymptomatic. The full statement regarding guidance can be found on FCPH’s website here: https://bit.ly/K12fcphGuidance

The ODH “Mask to Stay, Test to Play” guidance is still in effect for school-based exposures. You can find more information about this on our website: https://www.hamilton-local.k12.oh.us/restart.aspx

In addition, as we continue through the winter months and experience the bitter cold of another Ohio winter, please remember to keep children warm and safe as they wait at the bus stop. Please be prepared for unexpected transportation delays due to staffing or traffic - as we have already experienced delays like these this year.

Thank you to our community for your continued support throughout the school year. We hope you all had a wonderful winter break and we can’t wait to have our students back in our buildings!

Sincerely,

Superintendent Mark Tyler
