Hamilton Elementary School Survey April 8-19

Hamilton Elementary Parents/Guardians,

Our school is implementing a whole-school transformational process called the Leader in Me, which teaches 21st-century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.

Hamilton Elementary will be conducting surveys to learn more about key areas of strength and areas of needed growth in our school, and we need input from parents and guardians to create the fullest picture possible. If you choose to participate, we ask that you complete the survey linked below by Friday, April 19th. You will not be asked to share your name or any identifying information.

The parent/guardian survey takes about 12 minutes to complete and will ask questions about your child and his or her experience in our school. If you have more than one child attending the school, you will be asked to think about the oldest child's experiences as you answer questions related to his or her growth.

Habitats!

First grade has been learning about Habitats for their Knowledge unit. They have learned about all of the different habitats and the plants and animals that live there. The students created shoeboxes for their habitat and used art supplies to make their habitats come alive! The students were able to display their boxes and have a gallery walk to see other classroom projects too.

Lyn Ford Storyteller

HES hosted Lyn Ford for a first annual visit on February 29th. She had so many different Affrilachian stories, every group of students (3). Students had an amazing time and were super engaged and respectful!  Lyn comes from a heritage revolving around Black Appalachian and Native American roots. Many of the stories Lyn tells today come from the personal accounts of her father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
