As we embark on the first semester of school, please know at the forefront of our mission is to ensure all students at HTHS feel safe being themselves. While opinions on an indefinite amount of topics, whether current, from the past, or looking into the future will ultimately differ, we expect all students and our community to treat those with opposing opinions with respect and kindness.
From an academic perspective, our goal is to support students on their path toward graduation and to also support them in getting a jumpstart on their post-graduation plans to be Enrolled, Employed, or Enlisted. This includes, but is not limited to: attending a college or career technical school, joining the workforce, or enlisting in one of the branches of our military. Without question, our students have more opportunities and access to college and careers than ever before! We encourage you to stay connected with one of our guidance counselors as your student navigates their pathway toward both high school graduation and post-graduation.
In closing, for our parents/guardians, I will continue to remind you that you have the privilege of being the primary teacher in your student’s life. Please know that you are part of our school family. We need your support to help your child be successful. Furthermore, make every effort to take advantage of the "teachable moments" that arise in day-to-day life, this includes times of success and challenge so that your child is as ready as possible for the real world. If you ever need assistance, we strongly encourage you to reach out to us, as we are here to help! Thank you in advance for your trust and for being part of the HTHS family!
