While our academic departments emphasize how their instruction applies to career fields and our guidance department counsels students' career options, some of the best resources for career exploration are provided by Ohio Means Jobs. At HTHS each student must create a portfolio on the Ohio Means Jobs website and complete the valuable career exploration and planning activities, saving each in the personal online backpack. The pictures below show what the Ohio Means Jobs backpack will look like from first logging in through graduation. The check marks indicate which tasks must be completed.

The minimum requirements of the tasks are shown on the finished backpack picture. For example, each student must complete at least 3 of 5 career plans.
Through The Electrical Trades Center/Columbus State Community College’s College Credit Plus Initiative a secondary student can simultaneously earn high school credits, college credits, apprenticeship credits, as well as an Ohio approved Industry Credential for graduation. The courses through the College Credit Plus Initiative are free to the student, which means no cost for tuition, books or fees if you attend.
