As we prepare to start the second semester of the school year, I want to let you know that students will return to in-school learning on a 50/50 hybrid operating model on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. This is the Green/Gold schedule that we were in most of the first semester.
Our schedule for the first week back in school will be:
Tuesday, January 19 – Gold Group
Wednesday, January 20 – Green Group
Thursday, January 21 – Gold Group
Friday, January 22 – Green Group
Please know that we will continue to follow the same strict COVID safety protocols recommended by Franklin County Public Health related to masks, social distancing, hand washing, sanitizing, and cleaning.
When evaluating our district’s COVID data, our biggest challenge has come from meeting staffing needs due to employee non-COVID quarantines. Our intention is to adapt our operation as needed in order to keep our students learning in the building for the remainder of the academic year. There was one specific instance earlier this year that impacted transportation, and I want to address that as we move forward.
- If COVID quarantines impact our transportation staff to the point we are unable to provide bussing for students, parents will need to transport their children to school. If you do not have transportation, students will be able to complete their assignments online until bussing resumes. This is the same procedure we followed when we suspended transportation earlier this school year.
- If we have to suspend district bussing, we will continue to provide bussing to and from the career centers each school day. Parents will be required to drop off and pick up their children at HTHS each day.
