HLSD Announces New HTHS Assistant Principal

Hamilton Local School District is thrilled to announce the appointment of Kyle Anderson as the new Assistant Principal of Hamilton Township High School.

Anderson, a proud 2003 graduate of HTHS, started his journey with Hamilton Local long before his professional career. He attended HLSD from kindergarten through graduation and has fostered a deep connection with the community that he now serves.

“I first met Kyle during his junior year of high school when I had the opportunity to coach him in football. I can remember being impressed with his leadership skills then, and I’m excited to see him take this next step.” says district superintendent Mark Tyler.

Anderson holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and K-12 Special Education, as well as a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. He further enhanced his educational expertise by completing an Educational Leadership program at Salem University.

Anderson's professional career in education began as an educational aide in the ISS room during the 2015-2016 school year. In 2017, Hamilton Local Schools hired him as an Intervention Specialist, where he spent his first year working in both the High School and Intermediate School. During the 2018-2019 school year, he transitioned to a full-time role at the high school, co-teaching in the English department and teaching Resource English. In 2020, he expanded his teaching repertoire to include co-teaching in the Math department and teaching Resource Algebra courses.

As a teacher, Anderson served as the department chair for the special education team at the high school. He also took on the role of school district transition coordinator, collaborating with Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD). In 2023, he became the high school Dean of Students, working closely with the administration team and has coached football at Hamilton Township High School since 2013.

Mr. Anderson expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, stating, “One of the most rewarding aspects of being part of the Hamilton Local School District is collaborating daily with a dedicated group of professionals to serve the students. Supporting and guiding each student on their educational journey is not just a responsibility but a true privilege that I value greatly. As a graduate of Hamilton Township, I am truly honored to serve the same community that has shaped me into the person I am today. My goal as assistant principal is to listen, support, and collaborate with each school community member. Together, we will continue to foster a culture of academic achievement, personal growth, and mutual respect. Go Rangers!”

Hamilton Local School District is confident that Anderson’s extensive experience and unwavering commitment to the community will greatly benefit the students and staff. Pending Board approval, Anderson will assume full responsibilities on August 1st, 2024.
