On Tuesday, January 24, 2023 we celebrated the second annual Vince Payne’s Autism Shootout during the Hamilton Township High School JV and Varsity girls basketball games.
This annual event began on February 10, 2011 as the Autism Puzzle Shootout game featured on NBC4. The game was advertised as a “BLUE OUT”, and an event to help Hamilton Local Schools raise autism awareness. But Vince Payne turned this event into more than a basketball game.
Throughout the years, the event grew to include inflatable obstacle courses, donations from local businesses, raffles, and of course - blue dilly bars from the Obetz Dairy Queen. Mr. Payne put a lot of time and effort into making this event special for our district. This event will always be a reminder of his kindness to others, and dedication to this district and the people he loved.
