Stakeholder Meeting Provided Insight to Performance Standards To Be Set by the Ohio Department of Education-

Ms. Price attended a meeting on November 21 hosted by the leaders of the Office of Community Schools of ODE. Recent legislation in Ohio requires new performance standards be developed for dropout recovery community schools. This meeting, as well as others, allowed schools from around the state to provide input as to appropriate performance standards for our types of schools. Due to the specific needs of our types of students, deficient in credits and above age compared to their grade level, most community school administrators feel that these schools should have performance standards reflective of the growth of these students without being compared to the population of all schools. The results of our input will be shared with ODE and the legislators of the State of Ohio as they make important decisions regarding performance standards over the next few months.
