Each student, staff member, and parent will have access to the library
search and Destiny Quest at school and at home just by logging onto the
site
*
Once the student has logged in (entered their username and student ID
password) you will find a link at the top of the page called “My Info” this is where you can see what books are checked out to that student.
* Library Search: is your basic OPAC, where you can do keyword, title, author, subject or series type searches
* Also included in the Library Search is a power search, a visual search, or a copy category search, these are separate tabs located at the top right side of the screen
*
Destiny Quest is our other search engine for the HIS Library. It’s
automatically set up when a student logs in to go directly to Destiny
Quest.
* Destiny Quest: home page offers Top Ten checkouts, Resource Lists, and New Arrivals
* Top ten shows the top ten checkouts from our library, which changes daily
* New arrivals show the last 15 books cataloged into the library system
*
Resource lists shows a public list created to narrow your search or to
share with students and staff a particular subject matter or project
your class is participating in (these lists can be altered, added to and
deleted at any time)
*
Type in a search in the box at the top of the screen, once you click
Go! or hit Enter it will bring up a keyword search. On the left side of
your screen you may narrow your search by Author, Subject, Genre, AR,
Series, Awards, etc.
*
Placing your mouse over the picture of the book will pop up a brief
summary, the title, author, call number, and availability. (Only if you
are in Destiny Quest)
*
You can also click or double click on a book cover and it will pop up a
more detailed description of the book including total pages, reading
levels, related book suggestions, availability and the option to hold.
*
In Destiny Quest on the right side of the screen, there are icons
called MyQuest shelves. You can drag-and-drop a book cover over to any
of the corresponding “shelves” (Have Read, Now Reading, Want to Read)
and save for future reference.
* Always remember to “Logout” at the end of your session on the Catalog.
