Fitzgerald Selected To Guide District's Office of Athletics
Mr. Ryan Fitzgerald has been named the newest Director of Athletics for the Hamilton Local School District. He will begin his transition into the position during the remainder of the school year, and will assume full responsibilities on August 1, 2012.
“Ryan has proven to be a very hard working, dedicated employee who shows his commitment to the students and families in our district on a regular basis,” District Superintendent Christopher Lester explained. “He has been an instrumental member of our district's administrative team for two years and is ready for this promotion. I have every confidence that he will make a smooth transition from Assistant Principal to Director of Athletics.”
Ryan has six years of education experience that has taken him from the classroom into administration, most recently serving as Assistant Principal of Hamilton Township High School.
He began his career in education at Hamilton Intermediate School as a Gifted Intervention Specialist in August of 2006. During the 2010-2011 school year Ryan served as the high school's and Hamilton Alternative Academy's Dean of Students, and as HTHS Assistant Principal from 2011-2012.
Ryan has also served in the positions of assistant football coach; assistant track coach; and strength and conditioning coach from 2006-2011. He was an athletic Event Manager from 2009-2011 for our district as well.
Ryan is licensed by the Ohio Department of Education as an Integrated Social Studies Teacher, Gifted Intervention Specialist, and PK-12 Principal. Ryan's knowledge of our district and community, and his communication skills will enable him to be a very effective Director of Athletics for our district.
