My name is Mrs. Bassett! I have been teaching at Hamilton Local School since 2001. I taught 2nd grade for 6 years at Hamilton Central Elementary. I taught 4th grade Writing at Hamilton Intermediate School for 4 years. I then taught 2nd grade at Hamilton Elementary for a year. This is my 6th year at the intermediate teaching technology!
This will be an exciting year in the computer lab. We will have a great time and learn a lot. Come to school ready to learn and leave the "stuff" and behaviors at home. There is so much to do and never enough time to do it in.
I have three rules that we will follow in the computer lab along with the school wide behavior expectations. They are as follows:
CLASSROOM GOALS:
~ Improving Typing Skills. ~ Using web based software as a learning and teaching tool.
~ Creating and sharing documents with Google Docs.
~ Developing and sharing Google Presentations.
~ Learning how to search the Internet safely and efficiently.
~ Understanding the consequences and risks of Social Networks and Cyber Bullying.
~ Be able to understand concepts of computer connectivity and networking.
~ Study the origins of technology and evolution of computers.
~ Use digital cameras or camera phones and PhotoBooth.
Grading Policy: Students are graded on a pass/fail basis in the areas of participation and completion of classwork. Any combination of not participating or not completing work will cause the student to fail for an individual class period. All students will have weekly assignments (5 points per class - 40 total class points) along with an assignment to complete for the quarter (60 points). Total students can earn 100 points for the grading period. If a student accumulates 60 or less points during the 9 week quarter, they will fail the class for that grading period.
