Mrs. Thomas

Welcome to the 2021/2022 School Year!  I am looking forward to a tremendous year this year.
My name is Mrs. Thomas and I will be your child's 6th Grade Science teacher this year.

Please feel free to contact me anytime throughout the year if questions or concerns should arise.  My email is [email protected] and the school's phone number is 491-8044 and my extension is 1655.

6th Grade Policies and Procedures

AGENDA BOOK - This is available on the school website.  There will be no hard copies given out this year.l

HOMEWORK POLICY - Homework is expected to be turned in the day that it is due, or it will be counted as a zero.  The only exception to this policy would be because of an absence.

ABSENCES - It is your child’s responsibility to ask the teacher for any missing work.  If your child is absent from school for ONE DAY, your child will be permitted to have ONE EXTRA DAY to make-up the work. If your child was absent for TWO DAY, he/she will be permitted TWO EXTRA DAYS to complete the work. Your child will be permitted the same amount of days to complete the missing assignments as your child was absent.

 6th Grade Discipline Plan

A copy of this information will be sent home when we come back to school.

·     When a student reaches 5 recess detentions in a nine week period, an after school detention will be given.

·     After a student receives 1 additional recess detention, the student will then be assigned a recess detention and be required to conference with Mrs. Tadak.

The next step on the discipline plan would result in the student receiving an extended day detention.

·     After a student receives an extended day, the student will then be referred to the office each time a discipline issue occurs after being given an extended day.

Additional Notes

·     If your child skips their recess detention, they will be given an after school detention.

·     You will only receive notification from a teacher when your child receives an after school detention or extended day.

·     Please make sure you ask your child each day if they have received a recess detention in order to avoid any confusion.

·     This plan will start over each nine weeks.
