Improve students' reading comprehension of informational texts, including citing textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says, as well as inferences drawn, author's purpose, and determining words and phrases as they are used in a text to above grade level.

Increase students' performance on language and writing questions, including demonstrating command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage, determining and clarifying the meaning of unknown and multiple-meaning words and phrases, context clues, and understanding of figurative language and word relationships to above grade level.

Increase students' performance on writing assessments, including writing arguments to support claims, using valid reasoning and sufficient evidence, writing explanatory texts to examine and convey complex ideas, and producing clear and coherent writing appropriate to task, purpose, and audience to college level.
