Language Arts--English 9

Focus 1
Students will cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly, as well as draw inferences from the informational text.
Focus 2
Students will cite strong and thorough evidence to support analysis of central ideas from a literary text, as well as draw inferences from that text in regards to the central idea and character development.
Focus 3
Students will write arguments to support claims and analyze substantive topics using valid reasoning and relevant evidence, as well as providing warrants.

Language Arts--English 10

Focus 1
Improve upon students' ability to analyze purpose and effectiveness of informational text through rhetorical devices
Focus 2
Develop students' appreciation and application of skills gained through literary text
Focus 3
Increase student's ability to organize and formulate an argumentative essay

Language Arts--English 11

Focus 1
Improve students' reading comprehension of informational texts, including citing textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says, as well as inferences drawn, author's purpose, and determining words and phrases as they are used in a text.
Focus 2
Increase students' performance on language and writing questions, including demonstrating command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage, determining and clarifying the meaning of unknown and multiple-meaning words and phrases, context clues, and understanding of figurative language and word relationships.
Focus 3
Increase students' performance on writing assessments, including writing arguments to support claims, using valid reasoning and sufficient evidence, writing explanatory texts to examine and convey complex ideas, and producing clear and coherent writing appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.

Language Arts--English 11 Honors

Focus 1

Focus 1
Improve the students' performance on creating equations and inequalities and use them to solve problems.
Focus 2
Increase the percent of students earning 1 point or better on "interpreting the slope (rate of change) and intercept (constant term) of a linear model in the context of the data.
Focus 3
Improve students' performance on solving systems of linear equation exactly and approximately

Math--Algebra II

Focus 1
Improve the student performance in factoring so that they may use the skill to complete higher order problems including application.
Focus 2
Improve student performance on application of trigonometric functions.
Focus 3
Improve student ability to model with functions, namely, improve student ability to read and interpret a word problem, correctly set up the problem, and solve

Math--Geometry

Focus 1
Improve the students' performance on probability standards
Focus 2
Improve students' performance on circle standards
Focus 3
Improve students' overall Geometry Test scores by adjusting the content delivery

Science--Biology

Focus 1
Improve student performance of topics related to Heredity (e.g. cellular genetics, structure and function of DNA, genetic mechanisms of inheritance).
Focus 2
Improve student performance of topics related to Evolution (e.g. mechanisms such as natural selection, genetic drift, sexual selection; diversity issues such as speciation and variation).
Focus 3
Improve student performance of topics related to Diversity and Interdependence of Life (e.g. classification systems, and ecological systems topics such as carrying capacity and equilibrium).
Focus 4
Improve student performance of topics related to Cells (e.g. cellular structure and function such as organelle processes like cellular respiration, photosynthesis, and cellular division/differentiation).
