Public Participation Policy for Board Meetings

If your participation may require Board action or you would like to request Board action during your presentation please refer to Board Policy BDDH for requirements (see below).

You will need to compete the public participation form (also located in the "forms" secion to the right) and submit it to the Office of the Superintendent at least seven days prior to the Board meeting in which you would like to present.

If your comments are not going to request an action by the Board of Education, you do not have to submit your request to the Office of the Superintendent.  You will have the opportunity to sign-in for "Public Participation" once you arrive to the board meeting chamber by completing and submitting the form below.

Jankowski Elected To 4th Term As Board President; Obert Elected Vice President After Latest Meeting
Joe Jankowski will continue his role as President of the Hamilton Local Schools Board of Education after being voted into the position by his peers. Walley Obert was voted to serve his first term as Vice President. 
HLSD Adopts "Next Generation" Paperless Meeting Technology
Beginning this month, the Hamilton Local Schools Board of Education will utilize a new, paperless technology for distribution of meeting agendas, minutes, and other related information. 
Current Board Members
Joe Jankowski, President

Mr. Jankowski is currently serving the third year of his second term, and was recently re-elected by his peers to serve as President of the Board of Education during the January 2014 organizational meeting. Joe graduated from HTHS in 1976 and attended The Ohio State University from 1976-1983. He currently serves as a manager for the U.S. Postal Service. Joe and his wife Kathy have two sons, James and Gregory. Gregory still attends Hamilton Township High School. Many of you may have heard his easily recognizable voice on the PA at varsity football, boys basketball, track & field meets, and each year at HTHS graduation ceremonies. Joe is working to continue the upward progress in student test scores and state school ratings.

Walley Obert, Vice President & Legislative Liaison

Mr. Obert is currently serving the first year of his second term. Walley was recently elected by his peers to the seat of Vice President and was also re-elected to serve as our district's Legislative Liaison. Mr. Obert graduated from South High School and worked as a Journeyman Wireman while being a member of Electrical Union IBEW Local 683. He and his wife Pamela have had six children graduate from HTHS, and seven great grandchildren currently enrolled throughout our district. Walley brings many years of skilled trade and labor union experience to the board, and is working to be a voice for community members throughout our school district. He has spent many hours learning the responsibilities of a board member and is working hard to have a positive impact in our school district.

Pam Hallum, Board Member & Student Achievement Liaison

Mrs. Hallum is currently serving the third year of her second term, and was recently re-elected by her peers to serve as the organization's Student Achievement Liaison. She graduated in 1982 from Eastland Career Center and HTHS, and currently works at The Ohio State University School of Dentistry. Pam and her husband Roger have had three children graduate from Hamilton Township High School. Pam would like to continue to promote community participation in our schools, support fiscally responsible decision-making, and focus on continued improvements to our district’s academic scores.

David Schutte, Board Member

Mr. Schutte is currently in the first year of his fifth term, and has served multiple terms as president and vice president prior to this year. He and his wife Kim, along with their children Michael, Matthew and Nicole, are all Hamilton Township High School graduates. David works for YORK Worldwide, and also volunteers his time to the HTHS Athletic Department.
Mark Wilson, Board Member

Mr. Wilson is currently serving the first year of his third term, and previously served a year as the vice president of our Board of Education. Mark is a graduate of HTHS and attended Columbus State, and works for the Hamilton Township Fire Department. He and his wife Lori have three sons, Jalan, Gregory, and David. Gregory and David still attend Hamilton Township High School. Mark is focused on continuing improvement throughout our district and get more people involved in our schools.
