This kid is one of the most motivated students I've had in a long time. He consistently produces excellent work, and he puts in the time and effort to ensure that his work is such. He participates in class and is always actively engaged, and I have him 1st period when most students are rather sleepy. He is involved in multiple sports and activities here at the high school, and excels there as well with leadership positions. Beyond his classroom and extracurricular performances, he is just a good person. He has a strong work ethic, is kind and reliable, and is truly an exemplary representation of what we want our students to be. HS Staff

Derek Larimer is one of the most mature freshmen in his class.  He's academically responsible, extremely mannerly, and really well rounded as an athlete and musician.  I wish I had a classroom full of Dereks. HS Staff

Derek is a leader in the classroom and on the field.  Never misses a function that he is asked to be at, and comes to a few extra.  This kid is a difference-maker at HTHS! HS Staff

I have Derek in my Advisory.  He is kind to his peers and says good morning and goodbye to me each day, which many students do not take the time to do.  He often takes attendance on the paper seating chart on my clipboard for me so that I can then go into Progress Book and record it.  Overall, Derek is positive, kind, and motivated to be successful in school.  I hope to have Derek in one of my math classes in the upcoming years.
