HT vs. Jonathan Alder

Meeting for the 5th time in a little over two seasons, the Rangers and Pioneers were incredibly familiar with each other. After a strong 1-1 tie from the JV squads, the varsity game had a lot to live up to. It definitely delivered. Rainy conditions made the track a little more difficult to play on but strong play from both squads made this a fantastic game. Jonathan Alder was able to bring back 2 starting players back from last year and integrate them into their lineup for the first time this season so we knew we'd have our work cut out for us. Back and forth to start, the Rangers were able to get on the board first after Chase Jenkins was able to bury a 30 yard free kick right in the upper corner. A strong finish to the half led us into the locker room up 1-0 at the break.

The second half started out slow for the Rangers as Alder was able to put some pressure on early. Always dangerous on set pieces, we unfortunately gave up way too many chances to them. 15 minutes into the second half they were able to put away a set piece cross just by the outstretched hands of Jalen Woodson. Intenstiy picked up a little from both sides and Chase Jenkins was able to break free after a beautiful thru ball by Joe Watson. A small formation adjustment ended up securing the 2-1 victory. This win moves our record to 4-0-1 with a league match against Liberty Union up next.
