HT vs. Bishop Hartley

The Rangers came out of a hard fought battle against the Hawks from Bishop Hartley with a 1-1 tie. A district runner-up from last year, the varsity squad knew they had their work cut out for them and they rose to the occasion. The first 20 minutes went back and forth with a few opportunities for each side until Hartley was able to capitalize on a missed clearance and go up 1-0. A quick regoup and a foul call on the Hawks gave us a free kick from about 40 yards away. Dalton Willis played a quick ball which was followed by a beautiful 5 pass combination that ended in a Joe Watson goal to tie it up at 1!
The second half started a little slow as Hartley had a few real opportunities that they were unable to convert. The last 20 minutes became buckle down time and we really started applying the pressure. After an unfortunate send off, we were down to 10 men for the final 5 minutes. Even still, we created 5 legitimate scoring opportunities that just couldn't find the back of the net. The Rangers are back in action Saturday as they travel to Buckeye Valley for another central district non-league match.
Congratulations to the JV team as they secured their first ever victory over Bishop Hartley 4-2! Freshman Sullivan Marcum led the way with a hat trick and junior Andy Wilson had the other goal.
