HLSD Announces Intermediate School Assistant Principal

Mrs. Shannon Beeker, current eighth grade math teacher at Hamilton Middle School, has been named the new assistant principal for Hamilton Intermediate School. She will assume full responsibilities on August 1, 2021.


“Mrs. Beeker is strong in content and curriculum,” HLSD Superintendent Mark Tyler explained. “I have every confidence that Shannon will excel in this position. She has a very calm demeanor and will be a great addition to the Intermediate School team.”


Mrs. Beeker began working at HLSD in 2007. She has spent her fourteen years at HLSD at Hamilton Middle School teaching eighth grade math. The last four years she has also been the math team leader at HMS. Beeker completed her administrative internship with the HMS principals, Jeff Endres and Matt Thompson, in 2018 when she obtained her degree in Educational Leadership.


Throughout her years teaching, Shannon has served on various committees such as the Rubric Validation Committee for the Ohio State Achievement Test, Principal’s Advisory Committee, District Vertical Alignment Committee, Student Learning Objective Committee, Local Professional Development Committee, and the Discipline Committee.


Mrs. Beeker has a Master’s Degree from the American College of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, and Education Leadership. She has endorsements in Middle Childhood Education for grades fourth through ninth for Language Arts, and Math. 

 

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the amazing students, staff, and community at Hamilton Intermediate in this new role,” Shannon Beeker explained. “I am eager to make a positive contribution to the district and to begin supporting the students with their continued academic growth and social development.”


Jessica Wills, formerly announced as the assistant principal at Hamilton Intermediate School, will take over as assistant principal at Hamilton Elementary School.
