HLSD Announces Staffing Changes

Dr. Josh Conley, the current principal of Hamilton Elementary School, has been named the new principal for Hamilton Township High School. He will assume full responsibilities on August 1, 2021.


“Dr. Conley has proven himself to be an instructional leader with great knowledge in teaching and learning,” HLSD Superintendent Mark Tyler explained. “He has a clear understanding of how to balance building operations and works in constructive ways to help make district-wide improvements.”


Dr. Conley joined the Hamilton Local School District in 2002, where he student-taught and coached 7th-grade boys basketball for Hamilton Middle School. From 2003 to 2007, he taught within Hamilton Intermediate School. During this time, he continued coaching middle school and eventually high school boys basketball in addition to middle school coed track. 


Dr. Conley earned a Master's of Education in School Administration in 2005 from Ashland University. In 2007, he was named the assistant principal of Hamilton Elementary School. During his time in this role, he earned his Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from the Concordia University of Chicago. He was named the principal of Hamilton Elementary School in 2015. Dr. Conley brings fourteen years of successful school leadership experience to the high school.


"I would like to sincerely thank the community for their support and trust, as they have been very good to me during my almost twenty years within the Hamilton Local School District," said Conley. "I assure you that I will continue to work tirelessly toward instilling high expectations for all. I am truly excited to join the Hamilton Township High School team and look forward to the many things I'm confident we can accomplish by working together."


Dr. Conley's knowledge of our district will enable him to be a very effective Principal for Hamilton Township High School.




Mr. Matthew O’Hearn, the current Dean of Students for Hamilton Township High School, has been named the new assistant principal for Hamilton Township High School. He will assume full responsibilities on August 1, 2021.

“Mr. O’Hearn has a charismatic and calming personality that meshes well with students throughout the district,” HLSD Superintendent Mark Tyler explained. “I have every confidence that Matt will excel in this position, as it is easy to trust and believe in him and follow his leadership.”

Mr. O’Hearn joined the Hamilton Local School District in 2007 as a Social Studies Teacher for Hamilton Township High School. During his fourteen years with the district, O’Hearn has served multiple roles such as AP Government teacher, Kids Voting Liaison, Social Studies Co-Chair, and most recently, Dean of Students. 

Mr. O’Hearn earned a Master's of Education from The American College of Education in 2014. 

Outside of the classroom, Mr. O’Hearn has been the Head Hamilton Township High School Cross Country Coach since 2014. He has also served as a Varsity Assistant Track and Field Coach since 2009.  

"I can't wait to hit the ground running when it comes to establishing positive relationships, working collaboratively with others, and building leaders amongst the staff and students," said O’Hearn. "What a great opportunity to work with the best administrators,staff, students, coaches, secretaries, custodians, and cooks in central Ohio! Go Rangers and give me two claps and a Ric Flair!!!! WOOOO!"

Mr. O’Hearn’s knowledge of our district, and his dedication to the students and their families will make him a great fit as the Assistant Principal for Hamilton Township High School.

Mrs. Sara Tadak, the current assistant principal of Hamilton Intermediate School, has been named the new principal for Hamilton Elementary School. She will assume full responsibilities on August 1, 2021.


“Mrs. Tadak is an instructional leader who has a great understanding of curriculum and embraces data driven decision making,” HLSD Superintendent Mark Tyler explained. “She has passion and confidence toward Elementary academics which will allow her to be successful in this role.”

 

Mrs. Tadak began her career in 2002 as a 1st grade teacher at Hamilton Elementary School where she taught 1st grade for four years. She then moved to Hamilton Intermediate School where she taught 4th grade reading for four years, and then 5th grade writing for a year. During her time teaching, Mrs. Tadak earned her Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Ashland University.

 

Mrs. Tadak became the Assistant Principal of Hamilton Intermediate School in 2015. 


"During my time at HLSD, I have witnessed tremendous growth and progress in the district, as well as the construction of all four buildings," said Tadak. "I am excited and honored to have the privilege to serve as principal of Hamilton Elementary School. "


Mrs. Tadak's strong communication, organization, and leadership skills will enable her to be a very effective principal for Hamilton Elementary School.


Mrs. Jessica Wills, current math teacher and administrative support for Hamilton Township High School, has been named the new assistant principal for Hamilton Intermediate School. She will assume full responsibilities on August 1, 2021.


“Mrs. Wills has a phenomenal rapport with students and their parents and guardians,” HLSD Superintendent Mark Tyler explained. “I have every confidence that Jessica will excel in this position, and I am pleased to add an educator with her passion to the HLSD administrative team.”


Mrs. Wills joined Hamilton Local School District in 2009, where she was the Math Department Chair for Hamilton Middle School. In 2017, she transitioned to Hamilton Township High School to teach Math, and work as Administrative Support where she worked directly with building administrators. In addition to these responsibilities, she has been a Vertical Team Member and a New Teacher Mentor. 


Mrs. Wills earned a Masters of Education with a focus in Teaching & Learning from The Ohio State University in 2010. She also earned a Masters of Education with a focus in School Leadership from Concordia University Chicago in 2016.


Outside of the classroom, Wills was the Head Middle School Track & Field Coach from 2010 to 2019, and since then she has participated as the athletic department event manager and Class of 2021 advisor.


"I am very excited to take on this leadership role in our district," said Wills. "I look forward to working with our staff and community to help all of our students achieve academic and social growth."


Mrs. Wills’ energetic personality, and her dedication to the district makes her a great fit as the Assistant Principal for Hamilton Intermediate School.
