What if my child has followed the Green or Gold schedule, will they be attending the EVERY DAY model?

What social distancing guidelines do students follow?

  • The ODH K-12 School Quarantine Guidelines allow a minimum of three feet of social distancing to the greatest extent possible. According to ODH, schools that maintain a minimum of three feet of social distancing are eligible for the modified quarantine and can continue to attend school. If you have questions regarding modified quarantine procedures, please view the ODH K-12 School Quarantine Guidelines.

What measures are being put in place to protect student and staff health and safety?

Some of the mitigation efforts the District plans to implement during the EVERY DAY model are:

  • To the greatest extent possible, students will be spaced at least three feet apart.

  • Frequent hand-washing and sanitizing throughout the day and extensive cleaning after each school day.

  • The District is also examining the use of large areas such as gyms and outdoor spaces to increase seating options for lunch.

  • Continued case investigation and contract tracing of every student and staff case.

  • Continuation of all existing precautions for extracurricular activities (masking, distancing, practice pods, etc.)

Will students and staff need to wear face coverings?

  • Yes, masks are required for K-12 students and staff throughout the district. Preschool students are encouraged, but not required, to wear a mask.

How will students who are required to quarantine access their classes?

  •  In most cases, quarantined students will not have access to live instruction. They will need to access work through Google Classroom, email, and other office requests. If your student is quarantined, please contact the appropriate school at 614-491-8044 to make arrangements.

What will lunch look like?

  • Elementary School: Lunches will be delivered to students and custodians will pick up trash to prevent students from leaving seats. Students will also be separated by grade. Kindergarten and 1st grade will have lunch in the cafeteria and 2nd and 3rd graders will have lunch at tables setup in the gymnasium. Students will be separated enough to follow social distancing recommendations.

  • Intermediate School: Lunches will be delivered to students and custodians will pick up trash to prevent students from leaving seats. Students will be spaced enough to follow social distancing recommendations throughout the lunch room, stage, and gymnasium with assigned seats.

  • Middle School: Students will have assigned seats and be spaced enough to follow social distancing recommendations. Custodians will pick up trash and wipe tables to preclude the need for unnecessary student movement.

  • High School: Students will have assigned seats and be spaced enough to follow social distancing recommendations. Custodians will pick up trash and wipe tables to preclude the need for unnecessary student movement.

Will students be required to pay for lunch again?

  • Our regular breakfast and lunch will continue to be provided free of charge for every student.

Will students be allowed to use lockers?

  • Elementary School: Teachers will stagger the students' use of cubbies to maximize social distancing.

  • Intermediate School: Rather than lockers or cubbies, students will use bookbags/backpacks that they keep with them during the day.

  • Middle School: Not going to use lockers at all; going to use bookbags.

  • High School: Students will have limited access to lockers throughout the day.

What will recess look like?

  • Recess will follow social distancing requirements.

  • Guided recess sessions will allow students to interact and be active in a safe environment.

  • In case of inclement weather, guided recess will be held in classrooms with masks on.

What will gym classes look like?

  • During inclement weather, buildings will make use of appropriate indoor spaces.

  • Masks will be required for indoor and outdoor classes.
