Mr. Ryan Woods has been named the new Director of Special Education for Hamilton Local Schools. He will assume full responsibilities on August 1, 2021.

“Ryan has an unwavering focus and commitment to do what is best to ensure that the needs of special education students and their families are being met,” HLSD Superintendent Mark Tyler explained. “I have every confidence that Ryan will excel in this position, and I am pleased to add an educator with his passion and drive to the HLSD administrative team.”

Ryan has worked with the district for eleven years as an Intervention Specialist, and has spent the past two years as the Department Chair for Special Education. He has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ohio University, and a Master of Education from the American College of Education. 

Outside of the classroom, Ryan has dedicated the past nine years to coaching the Hamilton Township High School Cross Country and Track & Field teams.

Ryan's knowledge of our district, and his engaging and collaborative personality will enable him to be a very effective Director of Special Education for our district.
