HT Rangers football team beats Logan Elm

The HT Rangers Football Team defeated Logan Elm on Friday by a score of 48-21.  The defense gave the Braves no hope forcing four fumbles and recovering two of them and intercepting four passes on the night.  The Rangers held Logan Elm to just 25 yards rushing on 39 attempts and disrupted the Braves’ third down attempts where they converted just one of 11 attempts.  Deshan Peart returned an interception 48 yards for a touchdown about midway through the second quarter. The Rangers Offense combined for almost 400 total yards on the night led by running back Josiah Beverly who had two touchdowns and 125 yards on 18 attempts.  Brad Maynard also scored a rushing touchdown and carried the ball for 80 yards on 11 carries and Brock McGuire scored on the ground and had 44 yards on 16 attempts. McGuire finished the night completing 6 of 12 attempts for 93 yards and threw a touchdown pass to Malcolm Denny from 9 yards out.  Peart, Denny, Beverly, Petry, and Forson each had catches in the game. Peart and Maynard opened the scoring for the game on the first play that the Rangers had the ball when Maynard threw one over the top of the Braves defense and Peart tracked it down and continued running to the endzone. The Rangers only have two home games left and play the Fairfield Union Falcons on Friday October 4th at Alumni Stadium where the theme for the night will be “Youth Night”.
