Ohio’s Superintendent of Public Instruction, Paolo DeMaria selected HTHS junior, Jessica Frey to serve as a student representative on a new Graduation Requirements Workgroup to provide perspective that can assist state officials in determining what changes or alternative approaches could be made as it relates to the class of 2018.
“We are very proud of Jessica’s selection to this workgroup and believe she will provide sound opinion and thoughts as it relates to graduation requirements,” explained HTHS Principal, Dr. James N. Miller. “She is an excellent student and I know she will represent our district, school, and community very well.”
The new workgroup will meet every two weeks beginning on Wednesday, January 18 at 4:00 p.m. at the Ohio Department of Education, 25 South Front Street, Columbus.
Superintendent DeMaria will present a recommendation to the Standards and Graduation Committee by the April 2017 board meeting.
