Keyboarding Skills Added To Writing Standards
With the adoption of the Common Core Learning Standards, keyboarding skills is now part of the ELA standards under Writing. Students in the 4th grade are expected to type a minimum of one page, 5th graders are expected to type a minimum of two pages, and 6th graders are expected to type a minimum of three pages, in a single sitting. The students at the intermediate school are using a free website called Typingweb.com to work on these skills.
