Virtual Author Visit Enhances Reading Experience For 5th Graders - A very special "visitor" recently made an appearance in Mrs. Pond's classroom. The class recently read a novel titled Because of Mr. Terupt by Rob Buyea. After emailing the author to let him know how much they enjoyed the book, he offered to do a Skype visit with the class. Students spent time preparing for the visit by brainstorming questions they could ask him not only about the novel, but about the writing process as well. It proved to be a great way to engage the students and to get them excited about reading.
