The boys opened the season in thrilling fashion as they secured a come from behind victory against the Fighting Sherman of Unioto 4-3. A slow start and 2 defensive miscues saw Unioto put 2 on the board fairly quickly as we struggled to put together any real opportunities. After the 2nd goal however, our intensity picked up and we were able to create a plethora of chances just before halftime. 

 

Starting the 2nd half down 2-0 we knew our effort had to be strong and consistent from the start and that's exactly what happened. Our first goal came 6 minutes in on a beautiful cross from Ridge Pickens that Nathan Khanthachack buried in the back of the net. 5 minutes late Daelon Khanthachack put on a dribbling display and hit a strike from 25 yards out to tie it 2-2. Unioto not done, countered with about 20 minutes left and earned a PK which they finished to regain the lead 3-2 but some nice combination passing in the box ended with Andy Wilson getting fouled and then successfully finishing his own PK opportunity. A few chances here and there for both teams culminated in Sullivan Marcum burying the game winning goal off of an Elijah Taylor assist with just over a minute to play. We next meet Bishop Watterson at home for a non-league contest.
