Congresswoman Joyce Beatty Recognizes HTHS Blue Ribbon Achievement

Congresswoman Joyce Beatty's Deputy Director of Outreach, Ron McGuire stopped by to present Congressional Recognition from the Congresswoman to the Hamilton Local School District and Hamilton Township High School for earning the U.S. Department of Education's Blue Ribbon School designation.

Deputy Director McGuire presented the Congressional Recognition to Superintendent Bill Morrison and HTHS Principal, James Miller. Following the presentation, McGuire spent time talking with Morrison, Miller and several other district representatives, including the 2013 Ohio Teacher of the Year, Carole Morbitzer, who is now serving as Hamilton Local's Director of Teaching and Learning.

The group discussed Hamilton Local's exponential academic growth and the how a part of that success can be attributed to the district's commitment to early childhood education with Hamilton Preschool and all-day kindergarten opportunities. Many other items were discussed during Mr. McGuire's visit including increasing Hamilton Local's participation in programs involving the military, art education, and civil rights history while working more closely with Congresswoman Beatty's office.
