Each school year, our district conducts multiple drills for fire, tornado, and lockdown emergencies in order to be proactive and prepared in case the need arises to put the practice into action. Recently, our students and employees successfully completed lockdown drills throughout our district under observation by members of the Obetz Police Department.
“We have to conduct these types of drills unannounced to employees, students, and community in order to provide the most realistic implementation by everyone involved,” Hamilton Local Superintendent Bill Morrison explained. “When we conduct these drills, it is common to have local police or fire departments involved. I would like our community to know is that if there is ever an actual emergency in our district, we will notify parents via phone, district website, and through our social media accounts.”
Our district will conduct many more drills throughout the school year. If you have any questions, you can always call us at 614-491-8044.
