HTHS Athletic Hall of Fame Committee Prepares to Induct New Class

The Hamilton Township Athletic Hall of Fame is pleased to announce that they will be inducting four new members this week.

The Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2015 will include Theo Dotson, Amber (Trimble) Thrash, Rodney and James Dommer.

Theo Dotson is a 2002 graduate of HTHS and excelled in wrestling. Theo is a two-time OHSAA tournament state placer in the 125 pound weight class, including an 49-0 undefeated State Championship year in 2002. He is a two-time sectional and district champion. After HTHS, he continued his wrestling career at Ohio State University before transferring to Cumberland University in 2006. He was an All-American in 2006 while at Cumberland University. Theo is currently an assistant wrestling coach at Dublin Scioto and is employed by BG Medical and has a son, Dotson, and girlfriend Jen Weakley.

Amber (Trimble) Thrash is a 2006 graduate of HTHS, where she excelled at track and field. Amber qualified for the OHSAA State Track and Field meet her freshman and sophomore years in the 4x100 meter relay and 4x200 meter relay. During her sophomore year, she placed second in the 4x100 meter relay as her team placed second overall in the state. During her junior and senior years, she continued to excel as she qualified for the 100-meter dash (junior) and 100-meter dash and long jump (senior). Overall, Amber is a seven-time state qualifier. She currently resides in Reynoldsburg. In 2011 she graduated as an LPN and is currently attending school to become an ADN and will pursue a Master’s in Nursing. She is married to her husband Troy and has two daughters, Allanna and Lyla.

Rodney and James Dommer will be the 2015 Award of Merit recipients. Rodney has volunteered for 17 years for the football program, six seasons for the volleyball program, and five years for the girls’ basketball program. He also volunteered for four years for the Hamilton Township Athletic Boosters working Bingo. Rodney is currently employed with the City of Columbus Fire Department as a Firefighter/Medic assigned to the training academy as a recruit instructor. He has been married to Bonnie since 1981 and has one son, James Dommer, one daughter DeAnn Conway along with a granddaughter Delilah and grandson R.J.

James Dommer has volunteered for the football program for 15 seasons, volunteered for volleyball for six seasons and has volunteered five seasons for the girls’ basketball program. He also lettered in football and track and field (two seasons) and was the manager for the girls’ basketball program for four years while a student at HTHS. He also volunteered for the Hamilton Township Athletic Boosters for four years working Bingo. James is currently employed with the Ohio Attorney General’s office. He is married to Brandie since July of 2003 and has son, R.J., who is 2 years old.
