Miss Egan nominated October's Teacher of the Month

I would like to nominate Miss Egan for her class lessons based on the book, Towers Falling, by Jewell Parker Rhodes.  The book is about a homeless girl from Brooklyn who was born after the events of 9/11 and the effects of that tragic day on her family and community. Miss Egan chose this book because her students share this same perspective of being born after that day. She has designed activities such as character analysis and vocabulary cards students use in their notebooks. As a homework assignment, students were to interview someone from their “outside-of-school” lives who remember 9/11/01.  ~ Nominated by a H.I.S. Staff Member
