Fourth graders “took a ride” on the Underground Railroad to learn about its history and importance, how it operated, and who made it possible. Students played a game in which they had answer questions about the Underground Railroad such as “What was a conductor?”, “Who were abolitionists?”, and “Who did and didn’t want slavery?”. Students got a small taste of what those who traveled the Underground Railroad encountered on their journey while learning about this important part of our nation’s and state’s history.
