A short history of Hamilton Schools
As we move towards the new HTHS...

George Cole Audio Files from 1942

Several years ago Homer Beard called Mike Morbitzer at Hamilton Township High School and explained that he had some George Cole audio reels that he had converted to files on a compact disc. Knowing the deep love and admiration that a few thousand HTHS alumni had for Mr. Cole, Mr. Morbitzer knew that if Mr. Beard had what he said he had then Mr. Cole's former students could hear their favorite teacher's voice for the first time in decades. A short while later, Mr. Beard delivered one of the greatest donations we have received into our HLS archives.

In these extraordinary audio files we hear from Mr. Cole (the eighth grade class advisor), the eighth grade valedictorian and salutatorian, and many students from familiar Hamilton families. We hear remarkable descriptions of what was happening close to home, in Ohio, and far beyond our state borders. Be sure to listen to the band play the fight song, alma mater, and a few other familiar musical pieces. Enjoy Homer Beard's donation for a unique understanding of our history and for the special joy of hearing from a beloved Hamilton icon.
